Masters Level Counseling Intern Family Connections Counseling Hello! I'm Jennifer Allison, a graduate student at SMU working towards a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an intern serving at Family Connections Counseling, Cannon Elementary School, and the Mesquite ISD Care Clinic. I’m passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and adults through their healing journeys. Seeking help can feel daunting - that is why I believe effective counseling begins with a compassionate relationship between the client and counselor. I aim to provide a warm, empathetic, and safe environment where clients are able to define their therapeutic goals, emphasize their values throughout the counseling process, and discover an increased sense of personal empowerment. I have a special interest in trauma-informed approaches to counseling and child play therapy. I am eager to bring expressive arts, activities, and experiential methods into counseling. Through creative and personalized approaches, I strive to help clients of all ages foster growth, healing, and a deeper sense of fulfillment in their daily lives.
